Message from the Henderson, NV. Mayor

 As Mayor of a city carved out of the Nevada desert, and one of the fastest growing cities in America, I am pleased to present the Creating Communities: Innovative Designs for Desert Living Competition.

 Henderson has been recognized as one of the best cities in America to live in; however, growth, especially in a desert region, creates unique challenges that must be considered in order to maximize quality of life, while minimizing the impact on our precious natural resources.

 That is why I am so pleased to present these innovative concepts that take a serious look at the way development is done, especially in the desert southwest.
